Dr. Goddard is a Minnesota native originally from Montevideo. He spent time in Iowa for undergraduate education at Luther College and medical school training at Des Moines University. He finished at the top of his medical school class and was named “Graduate with Distinction.” Dr. Goddard then completed an ophthalmology residency at Medical College of Wisconsin in Milwaukee, where he served as Chief Resident during his final year.
After completing residency, Dr. Goddard spent five years as a comprehensive ophthalmologist in western Minnesota. He decided to join AEC to become a member of an exceptional eye care team with access to the latest advancements in the field of ophthalmology. Dr. Goddard prides himself on treating patients respectfully and conscientiously, as if they were members of his family. He also enjoys keeping up with evolving medical technology as it applies to ophthalmology and eye surgery, striving to provide the best outcomes for his patients. Outside of work, Dr. Goddard enjoys spending time with his wife and three children. His hobbies include running road races and marathons, cycling, home improvement projects, building furniture, and spending time at his family cabin near the Boundary Waters.
